Do not start in 2009
Start with last year, then the year before. Ancient history is easier once the recent map is true. A complete 2024 is more useful than a wrong 2011.
Set a timer for 45 minutes. Stop when it rings. Backfill is a habit, not a homework project.
Use three sources only
Photos (location and date), ticket emails, and Setlist.fm / Radar Find. If all three disagree, trust the photo GPS and the venue, then pick the closest catalogue date.
Search the artist in Find, open likely nights, and add the one that matches. Do not create duplicate gigs for the same night.
Good enough is correct
Missing support acts are fine. Wrong seat numbers do not matter. Artist, venue, and date are the spine.
When the hour is up, log tonight’s upcoming show as well. The diary has to work forward or you will never finish the past.
