Who we are

Radar (“we”, “us”) is operated for joinradar.co.uk. For privacy questions contact privacy@joinradar.co.uk.

What we collect

Account: email address and profile information (display name, username, avatar, favourite artists, bio, social links). Diary & content: gigs you log (artist, venue, date, notes, ratings, photos, setlists, crew/tags), comments, and festival picks. Social: friend connections, gig tag invites, blocks/mutes, activity visible to friends per your settings, and taste-match data derived from artists you've both seen. Messaging: direct messages, crew chats, and event chats you join — including message content, reactions, @mentions, read receipts, and mute/hide preferences. Location: venue/city text you enter and coordinates derived from venues for map features (not continuous GPS tracking). Device: push notification tokens when you enable notifications. Optional integrations: if you connect Spotify we receive your top artists (and playlist scope if you reconnect for setlist playlists). If you connect Gmail or Outlook (Radar Pro only) we store OAuth tokens and your connected mailbox address so our server can scan for ticket confirmation emails when you request a scan—we do not continuously monitor your inbox. Purchases are processed by Apple/Google via RevenueCat—we receive subscription status, not card details.

Optional email import (Radar Pro)

If you choose to connect Gmail or Microsoft Outlook/Exchange, you authorise Radar to access your mailbox read-only for the purpose of finding ticket confirmation emails from known vendors (for example Ticketmaster, See Tickets, DICE, and AXS). What we access: when you tap scan, our server searches your mailbox for likely ticket confirmations, reads matching messages, and extracts show details (artist, venue, date) to suggest gigs for you to review before import. What we do not do: we do not send email on your behalf, delete email, modify labels/folders, or scan your mailbox unless you start a scan. We do not use your mailbox for advertising or sell mailbox data. What we store: OAuth access and refresh tokens and your connected email address (encrypted at rest on our infrastructure). We store message IDs we have already processed to avoid duplicate suggestions—not full email bodies after parsing. Control: you can disconnect Gmail or Outlook in the app at any time, which removes stored tokens. Imported gigs remain in your diary unless you delete them.

Why we use it

We process data to provide the service (account, diary, search, map, Wrapped, messaging), enable social features you use, send notifications you opt into, operate Radar Pro billing, improve reliability, and comply with law. Lawful bases (UK GDPR): contract (core app features), consent (push notifications, Spotify connect, Gmail/Outlook connect, and email scans where applicable), and legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, aggregated service improvement).

Who we share with

Infrastructure: Supabase (database, auth, storage), Expo (push delivery), and our VPS hosting in the EU/EEA where applicable. Payments: Apple App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat for subscription status. Optional: Spotify when you connect; Google (Gmail API) or Microsoft (Graph Mail) when you connect email import—OAuth is handled on our server with read-only mail access; event data providers (Ticketmaster, Setlist.fm, Skiddle, Eventbrite) when you search for shows—queries go through our server, not your API keys. We do not sell your personal data.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Email connection tokens and processed message IDs are deleted when you disconnect email import or delete your account. When you delete your account we remove your auth profile and associated diary/social/messaging data subject to backup retention (typically up to 30 days).

Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your data. Disconnect Gmail or Outlook in the app to revoke mail access and remove stored tokens. Delete your account in Settings → Delete account, or email privacy@joinradar.co.uk. You may complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if unresolved.

Children

Radar is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

We will update this policy when practices change. Material changes will be noted in-app or on this page.
